Bill Polian, the man whom should be noted for his contribution in ruining professional football, really set himself apart this week. This guy hates the Patriots in general and Bill Belichick in particular. He is still butthurt that Belichick devised the game plan in Super Bowl XXV that held his high-powered Buffalo Bills to 19 points in a one point loss to the Giants. That Super Bowl, of course, was the only Super Bowl that Polian’s teams had a chance to win in the 1990s. Years later, their mutual dislike resurfaced when Polian was the GM of the Indianapolis Cry Babies.
The Indianapolis Colts have accomplished the hat trick. How often is a professional sports franchise such a mess that their head coach, general manger, and owner each receive this distinction within a couple of months? Jim “Booger Sugar” Irsay not only didn’t fire GM Ryan Grigson and head coach Chuck Pagano, he signed each of them to a multi-year extension! I had two reactions upon hearing this news.
A Happy New Year to all. At some point in the last couple of months, Miami Dolphin fans must have said to themselves ‘this season can’t get any worse.’ Sorry guys, it just did. Brent Grimes’ wife needs her own sitcom. I’m serious. She is hilarious. Brent Grimes’ wife Miko is often in the headlines for her over the top Twitter rants. Her latest drunken rant came earlier this week, when she slammed Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill after an embarrassing home loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
There are many things in life that annoy me: the NFL turning into two hand touch, the cold and snow of a New England winter, suffering through 30-second-long ads prior to watching a video on YouTube, Barack Obama’s presidency….the list goes on forever. High on that list is the ‘holier than thou’ condescending attitude of the BBWAA writers. Next week, we’ll find out who will be the newest members of the Hall of Fame. Why are the careers of the greatest baseball players being scrutinized and judged by a bunch of slobs who probably never played beyond Little League? I have no idea.
This week's loser is NY Giants wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr.
First and foremost, best wishes for a very Merry Christmas to our loyal readers. Even though I detest the New York Giants (for obvious reasons), I didn’t hate Odell Beckham Jr. I think he’s entertaining as hell to watch and is off-the-charts talented. The fact that I know that my team doesn’t have to play him for another four years puts my mind at ease. I think he’s that good. Now that all of the superlatives are out of the way, what he did on Sunday was embarrassing.
