Arguments can be made against, but they can't be won
In January I'm going to be a Dad, and I can't wait for my son to be born. And while Dad's-to-be think of all types of crazy things and possibilities for their kids, there's one odd thought that keeps popping into my head - I hope he'll get to see and remember Tom Brady play live. Yes that line is serious, and for an insane sports fan like me, which I presume my kid will be too, it's an actual real thought - I want my kid to get to experience the best of everything in life.
Patriots add further depth in a waiver claim STEAL
The Patriots have claimed troubled WR Michael Floyd off of waivers. The 27 year old Floyd will bring receiver depth on the outside for the Patriots and as a 6’2, 220lb wideout that can run a 4.47 forty he has the ability to be a possible stud ‘X’ receiver. Floyd was recently arrested for a DUI, he has only 33 catches for 446 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games with Arizona this season. He was a former first round pick taken number 13 overall in the 2012 draft. This is an example of another highly talented reclamation project – the type Bill Belichick so seems to love.
Tom Brady keeps climbing up the all time ranks, passing milestones and accumulating wins - while not really even slowing down!
At some point during today's game agaisnt the Jets, probably while it's still in the first quarter, Tom Brady will pass 60,000 career passing yards, being only the 5th player ever to do so (joining in order of the most yards - Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Drew Brees and Dan Marino). His ascension up all of the leaderboards should come as no surprise, as he's played at a high level for such a long time.
2007…The most insane football season I have ever seen…well…we are going to test that theory this season. While we can’t predict 16-0 again, it’s definitely possible. Yes it’s only Week 3 (for them), but have you looked at the schedule? While there are a few hard games on the docket it appears very few that the Patriots could lose. Sure, any given Sunday, yadda yadda yadda, we get it. But let’s be real. What are we looking at (presuming – knock on wood or anything that resembles it – health), 14-2 or 13-3 AT WORST. Probably a good shot at 15-1 or...the ever taunting 16-0 again?
I’ve abstained from officially putting anything ‘out’ about DeflateGate, Tom Brady, the Wells Report and all that Jazz…..but this is just too good and it’s Media Frenzy Gold. Every day between Mother’s Day and today I’ve started to write something and then said – nahhh…..don’t bleed your bias onto a piece. Let’s face it, I’m about as unbiased as the Wells Report. Again I said about, not more probable than not because face itI’m much more open minded, even after I’ve been hitting heavy from the homer soup.
This week’s loser is Chiefs quarterback, Alex Smith.
As you’ve probably guessed, I’m not a big Alex Smith guy. I don’t hate him, and I don’t think he’s a bad quarterback, but I think he is painfully overrated. He’s 30 years old and has been in the league for eight years, and he’s thrown more than 20 touchdowns ONCE- last season he threw 23. He has topped the 3,000 yard plateau only twice in an era where it is DESIGNED for the quarteback to throw for at least 4,000 yards. So given all of this, how am I supposed to believe that he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL when he’s the third-best quarterback in his own division?
